Hannibal Journal, Thursday, March 18, 1847
John Shepherd died at Akron, Ohio, on the 3d ult., aged one hundred and 
eighteen years, nine months and eighteen days.  He was a participant in the 
battles of Brandywine and Germantown Flats, and was wonded in the former. -- 
Peace to his aches!
