 The Grill Family of Franklin Township, Summit County, Ohio

I am researching the GRILL family of Franklin Township. John GRILL and
his wife, Sarah FUNK settled in Franklin Twp. in 1840. The family emigrated
from Berks County, Pennsylvania. John GRILL's great great grandfather,
Johann Adam KREIL (b before 1716) arrived at the port of Philadelphia
on 19Sep 1732 aboard the pink "Johnson", departing from Rotterdam, Holland 
by way of Deal, England for clearance. His grandfather, John Adam GRELL
(1730-1801) married Charlotta BREIDENSTEIN. The family lived in Cumru
Twp Lancaster (now Berks) Co., PA. John Philip GRILL (1762-1826), son of
John Adam, married Christine LESHER (1767-1835). Some of their children 
moved to Illinois and some to Kansas. John Philip's son, John GRILL
(1797-1867 purchased the land in Summit County and operated a sawmill. John 
married Sarah FUNK (1794-1876), daughter of Martin FUNK and Catherine 
(1772-1849).

John and Sarah's children were:

David (1822-1907) m. Harriet WEIDMAN

Martin (1830-after 1907) m. Rachel LUDWICK

Sarah Ann (1832-before 1907) m. John EBERT

Mary Ann (1834-after 1907) m. John SNYDER

John (1835-1906) m. Leah SNYDER (1833-1897)

Catherine (1836-before 1907)

William (1831-before 1907) m. Eliza KOHLER (1838-?)

Daniel (1829-1908) m. Catherine SWIGART (1824-1920)

Lydia Ann m. Joseph WHOLF

John GRILL married Leah SNYDER, daughter of Fredrick SNYDER (1799-1883) who
was born in Germany and Mary (1803-1869). John worked on his father's 
sawmill, later becoming the owner. John and Leah's children were:

Eliza (1854-?) m. George HUBER

Alfred (1856-1934) m. Sarah (1861-1934)

Amanda (1858-1934) m. Noah FRASE (1850-1938)

Emma (1861-?) m. David JOHNSON

John (1863-?) m. Caroline FETZER (1862-1913)

William (1866-?) m. Mary

Ellen (1860-1860)
