Daniel Allen was brought up a farmer, and in 1806, in the fall, he landed in this Township, after a journey of six weeks by ox-teams; he settled on the farm now owned by his son Isaac. He was Captain of State Militia some time. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, as well as his wife. Mr. Isaac Allen, son of Daniel, is a native of this town; his advantages for education were more than ordinary.
