HISTORY OF TRUMBULL COUNTY, OHIO (Page 36 1/2) EUNICE NEWTON, Kinsman, daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Linsley, was born in North Brandford, New Haven, Connecticut, June 19, 1785. November 8, 1807, at the age of twenty- two, she was married to Mr. Lemuel Newton. Nine children was the result of this union, four boys and five girls, five of which are still living; all lived to be men and women except one. In 1809 she came here, and settled in Gustavus, where she lived two years, and since then has resided in this town. Her husband was a sailor, and followed the sea for a living. He was born November 27, 1783, and died November 27, 1860. Mr. Newton was a soldier in the War of 1812, and after serving his country faithfully, he settled down to farm life. Mrs. Newton's father, Mr. Linsley, was a Revolutionary soldier. Mrs. Newton is now in her ninetieth year, but hale and hearty. She is a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is a kind and affectionate mother, and is seemingly waiting for the Great Captain to send her the welcome summons, "Enough; come up higher." Her son, Isaac, was a soldier in the Rebellion; one and a half years in the 71st Ohio and 177th Ohio Infantry. Sarah Ann Case is a daughter of Mrs. Newton, and feeling an interest in her mother's history, she therefore contributes to this department of our work. ==== Maggie_Ohio Mailing List ====
