Your friends are all enjoying very good health through the favors of a continued kind Providence. Your Mother and family are to continue with Susan until spring. Ihave no news, that I think of the write of interest. Rosalinda Hart went to Sharon some 2 months since and called Esqr, Clark out of his bed some time between 10 o'clock at night and morning and was joined to a man of the name of Harmon in the holy bonds of wedlock she being enciente the modest creature. The Whig cause is triumphing gloriously. David Tod is elected to stay in his coal bank. New York state has elected Young by not less than 11,000 majority and 21 reps. to uongress. Pannsylvania stronge Whig still a change in Mercer County of more than 1100 Whig being 625 Whig majority., Jimmy Polk is a doomed man and his dynasty in the consumption. John Crowel and Giddings for the next Congress a Whig congress pretty certain next. No news from the Army since the capture of Monterey it said that Santa A In the worlds great Drama what apparent confusion. Law, Religion, Politics and Ware are the four cardinal subjects. Each is attended with its thousands ramifications and abstractions, and we, the little actors, are whirled, about until we are whirled off the stage to make room for new actors in the same play and all impelled by surrounding circumstances. And yet in all the varied evolutions there is a Master hand who can bring order out of disorder and regulate confusion itself in to perfect concord. Intake their stand either in heaven's Eternal bloom where there is no disorder nor changes but one continued chorus of songs and praised to him who conquered Death. and brought life and immortality to light! What a thought! Is such to be our lot? It may be, it can be, and I trust hoping on God's mercy, it will be. vain would it have been for puny mortals to have brought this Great Salvation. It is alone through the loving kindess and enduring mercy of a Loving Saviour and his death and sufferings on Calvary On the other hand sits grim Death, grinning ghastly over the mighty host of umpardoned sinners. Plunged in a gulf of confused blackness with the old enemy triumphing in their agony , the thought cannot be endured. I must cast it from me. I need not say to you that I have much of my past life to regret yet is with the years beyond the flood and cannot be recalled. My resolutions I am not fond of telling, they are between me and my God. Nor need I advise you to be prudent, be civil and patient. Let no evil communications proceed out mouth, and although your neighbors may seem strange to you speak well of all and you will never regret it and will by so doing avoid many of the thorns of this thorny world. I will send you a newspaper soon. From information we think it not best to send you those apples until your Father Hirst comes out in the spring. Wiishing you all happiness I subscribe myself your old friend Orenus Hart A thousand good wishes are sent by Your friend P.S. Write me soon and say what Mahaffy will do about that note and how you are getting along.
