Discharged near Washington D.C. on June 3, 1865, by reason of telegraph ic order from the War Dept. directing the muster out of troops whose term of service expires before Oct. 1, 1865. He was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania 5’6” tall brown hair and blues eyes. His occupation prior to enrolling was a farmer. Captain Jacob Kline also signed this, from the 16th Infantry Commanding the Regiment. David and his wife Sarah are both buried at Fairview Cemetery Mesopotamia, Ohio. He died in 1907. She died in 1896. He is in lot No. 318 Grave 1 Block # EH . Additional Comments: David's father was Moses Bower. They were from Adams County, Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio. Other Bowers who were also in the civil war from Mesopotamia, Ohio were: Ephraim 14th Ohio Battery. 1833-1907. Buried at Fairview Cemetery Mesopo- tamia, Ohio. H. Bower 15th Battery, died in service, from Mesopotamia, Ohio. Harrison Bower 7th OVI Company H. son of Andrew Haynes Bower of Mesopotamia, Ohio. John Bower, 105th OVI Company H, son of Japeth Bower of Mesopotamia, Ohio. Robert Bower 15th Ohio Battery Corporal died in service. He is buried at Fairview, Cemetery, Ohio. William Bower, 14th Ohio Battery, of Mesopotamia, Ohio. He is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Mesopotamia, Ohio.
