John Edwards of 504 Cedar ave., died at the family home last evening at 8:30 following a three months illness of complications. He was seventy years of age. Mr. Edwards was born at Myersville, Pa., May 20, 1857, the son of Edward R. and Elizabeth Williams Edwards, but had spent practically all of his life in the Mahoning valley. He had been a resident of Niles for but one year, having formerly lived in Youngstown and Mineral Ridge. He was a carpenter by trade and was employed at the plant of Thomas Sheet Steel. Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Edwards, four daughters, Mrs. John Sweeney of Niles; Miss Martha and Bessie Edwards of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Robert Stanley of San Francisco; Three sons, Edward of Sharon, PA.; John at home and Frank of San Francisco, and three grandchildren. Also one sister Mrs. Thompson of Mill Valley, PA., and two brothers, Edward R. and Harry Edwards of Niles. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p. m., Rev. Chester E. Tulga officiating. Burial will be made in the Belmont Avenue cemetery.
