Lepper The Angel of Death has again visited us, and taken this time one who has long been a great and patient sufferer. Mrs. Susanna E. LEPPER, wife of Mr. Jacob A. Lepper died last Wednesday evening, May 4th, aged 71 years and 8 months. Aunt Susan--as she was familiarly known--had been an invalid for nearly a year, and about three months ago took what proved to be her death bed. She was a good, kind friend and neighbor, and her death causes a vacancy in our midst which cannot be filled. A singular and remarkable coincidence is connected with her death. The burial service was held in the afternoon of May 6th, Just one year ago--May 6th, 1880, Mr. and Mrs. Lepper, with their family connections, celebrated their golden wedding. Rev. C. J. Feitt was present at the golden wedding, and was called to attend the funeral services, which were held at the residence. He read a part of the 15th chapter of 1st Cor., and in his remarks referred to the happy gathering one year ago, when all were so pleasant and cheerful and everything spoke of life, little thinking that in just one year from that date they would be called together in the same place to pay the last sad rites to the bride of the day. Thus beautifully contrasting the two occasions. She bore her afflictions patiently and said she was ready and willing to go. A large concourse of sympathizing friends were present at the funeral, and in addition to the remarks and other exercises, the ceremony was made very impressive by the singing by the quartette, the pieces "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "Tis Better Farther On." A CARD: We wish in this public way to express our heartfelt thanks to our friends and neighbors, for their assistance with willing hands and their sympathy manifested all through the long sickness of our dear mother, and up to the time when her remains were removed from our sight.
