Warren, OH.....Wed, 23 Feb. 1881 MESOPOTAMIA Joseph Lepper Found Dead in His Sled---School Matters One of our citizens met with a sudden death last Wednesday. Mr. Joseph LEPPER left his home, at the Center, in the morning for Trumbull, Ashtabula County, with a one horse sled load of house-hold goods. He got out and walked up the hill, within less than a quarter of a mile of his stopping place; at the top of the hill he got back into the sled, and started on, went but a few rods when the horse stopped. People living near by saw him coming, saw the horse stop, noticed he did not move, went to him and found him a corpse. He had the reins and whip in his hands and had not fallen from the seat. His body was brought back that night, and will be placed in the vault today. Mr. Lepper was sixty nine years of age. He was a resident of this place thirty years ago, after which he went West, and came back here four or five years ago. His widow is a very frail woman, and is in delicate health, and it is feared she will not long survive him. The family have the sympathy of the community, in their affliction. Mrs. J. A. LEPPER is also very sick, and fears are entertained of her recovery. Mr. Seba ENSIGN continues about the same. Mr. WANZER is slowly recovering.
