Coshocton Tribune April 24, 1939 
NEWCOMERS WOMAN IS TAKEN BY DEATH
Mrs. James C. Carr died at 9:40am today at her home on West State St. in 
Newcomerstown of infirmities of age. She was 89. She was born at Birds Run in 
1850, a daughter of Reed and Amelia Tidrick. Her husband is deceased. 
Surviving are five children, Charles and Ernest Carr, Mrs. Mary Rennard and 
Mrs. Nellie Stoffer, all of Newcomerstown, and Harry Carr of Coshocton; six 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30pm 
Wednesday at the First Baptist church in Newcomerstown, of which she was a 
lifelong member. Burial will be in the Newcomerstown cemetery.
