John Henry Decker, Newcomerstown, Dies Near Port Washington
John Henry Decker, 74, of 462 McKinley Ave. Newcomerstown, died Wednesday at 
9:55pm in the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert 
Chapman, Port Washington Route 1, following a seven weeks' illness. He was 
born Jan. 2, 1877, near Port Washington, a son of Abraham and Amanda Tidrick 
Decker. On April 23, 1932, he was married to the former Gertrude Carr, who 
survives, together with two brothers, Frank of Nashville Ark. and Warner of 
Port Washington Route 1. One brother is deceased. Funeral services will be 
held Saturday at 2:30pm in the Newcomerstown Baptist church, of which he was a 
member. Rev. J. H. Brandbury will conduct the services and burial will be in 
State Street cemetery.
