He had always been prominent and active in town affairs, and had held practically every public office. In 1913 he published a history of Dover. He was a member of Company I. of the 150th regiment during the Civil War. He was also an honorary member of the Old Settler's Association of Cuyahoga County. His parents came to Dover in 1821, and settled on what was later named Hall road.( Reuben, son of Charles and Lucy Seymour Hall, died Nov. 20, 1921.
