Bessie gave birth to Robert Eugene on April 23, 1926 stillborn. Bessie died May 1, 1926 and was temporarily placed in a moseleum until the family was well enough to attend her and Robert's funeral. Doris Lucille, age 1 d: May 6, 1926 and placed with her mother and newborn brother. Three children survived. They were removed from the moseleum and buried. Robert and Doris are buried in the same casket with Bessie, however, there is no mention of them on the tombstone. Newspaper publications confirm this information. Clancy Ulissis Ames died three years later from what many said was a broken heart. The children were raised by Bessie's family.
