Patent for Survey No. 3312 for 151 Acres >From The United States of America To Lucas Sullivant John Adams President of the United States of America To all to Whom these Presents Shall Come, Greeting Know ye, That in consideration of Military Service performed by George Gilchrist (as Major for the seventh year of his service) to the United States in the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment and in pursuance of an Act of the Congress of the United States passed on the 10th day of August in the year 1790, entitled "An Act to enable the Officers and Soldiers of the Virginia Line on the Continental Establishment to obtain titles to certain lands lying North West of the River Ohio, between the little Miami and Sciota [Sic.]" and another Act of the said Congress passed on the 9th day of June in the year 1794, amendatory of the said Act, there is granted by the Said United States Unto Lucas Sullivant assignee of James Johnson assignee of Andrew A. Gilchrist, Heir at law of the Said George Gilchrist, deceased, a certain tract of land containing One hundred and fifty one acres Situate between the little Miami and Sciota Rivers northwest of the River Ohio as by survey bearing date the seventh day of June in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and bounded and described as follows. To Wit: Survey of one hundred and fifty one acres of land on part of a Military Warrant Number four Thousand eight hundred and forty nine in favor of the Said James Johnson (the whole thereof being for eight hundred Eighty Eight and five sixths acres) on Darby's creek. Beginning at two Ashes on the Bank of the Creek on the lower side thereof lower corner to Said Sullivant's Survey number three Thousand three hundred and twelve, running with said Sullivant's line South ten degrees East sixty three poles to two White Oaks lower back corner to Said Sullivant's Survey; Thence South seventy five degrees East one hundred and ten poles to two Elms; Thence East sixty poles to two White Oaks; Thence North five degrees West Seventy three poles to an Elm and Hickory on the Bank of the Creek; Thence up the Creek with the meanders thereof North thirty Seven degrees west forty poles, south sixty eight degrees west twenty poles, South forty eight degrees west one hundred poles, to the Beginning, with the appurtenances; To have and To hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances Unto the said Lucas Sullivant and his heirs and assigns Forever. In Witness Whereof the Said John Adams, President of the United States of America, hath caused the Seal of the United States to be hereunto affixed and signed the same with his hand at Philadelphia the Third day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and of the Independence of the United States of America the twenty fourth. Beginning at two Honey Locusts on the lower side of the Creek, lower corner to said Sullivant's Survey No. 3311, running S. 30 W. 100 poles, passing said Sullivant's lower back corner to two White Oaks; Thence S. 60 E. 145 poles to two Elms; Thence N. 75 E. 110 poles to two Elms; Thence N. 10 W. 63 poles to two Ashes on the bank of the Creek; Thence up the Creek with the meanders thereof W 54-N. 60 W. 136 poles to the beginning.
