Conklin, aged 57, died Monday night at 8:25 O'clock at his home a mile southeast of Watkins, after a long illness of Bright's disease. He was a son of Henry and Ealenore Conklin, deceased, and was born May 14, 1865 in Waynesburg, Pa. He was married May 14, 1896 to Miss Clara Kiger, of near Waynesburg. Mr. and Mrs. Conklin came to Union county about seventeen years ago and located in Millcreek township where Mr. Conklin was for several years a successful farmer. The family resided in the property now occupied by J.J. Hudson and family in West Sixth street, when Mr. Conklin operated a meat market in North Main Street several years ago. Besides his widow Mr. Conklin is survived by a daughter. Mrs. Jewell Herriott, of Plain City. One child died in infancy. He is also survived by two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the residence and interment in Oakdale cemetery in charge of Morey and Faulkner.
