It is that of Lenville H. Elliott, one of our most progressive farmers and auctioneer, who died at Grant hospital in Columbus Monday morning at 9 o'clock from arterio-sclerosis and heart trouble, aged in his 56th year. Mr. Elliot had been in failing health for the past year, but on Friday, Sept. 21st, was compelled to take to his bed and on Wednesday, Sept. 26th, it was deemed advisable by his physician and family to remove him to Grant hospital for consultation, and with the proper care it was thought he might recuperate more rapidly. On Friday his condition took a turn for he worse and he continued to grow weaker until death relieved his suffering. He was a man with many good traits of character, loved and respected by all who knew him. He was born April 25, 1861, near Zanesfield, Logan county, and came to Milford Center with his parents when but 11 years of age. It was here that he learned the miller's trade with his father, afterwards engaging in the mercantile business. In 1892 he purchased and moved on a farm near Chuckery where he continued to reside up till the time of his death. Mr. Elliott has served as a member of the Union County Agricultural Society for the past six years, two of which he has been president. He was always active in church work from a small boy, being a member of the M.E. Church, and served as superintendent of the Sunday School at Lewis Chapel Church at Chuckery for several years. He was also a faithful and honored member of the Masonic and Oddfellow lodges. He leaves a wife and one son, Amer Elliott, wife and two grand children to mourn the loss of a devoted and affectionate husband and father. One child, Mable, died when but six months old. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1:30 standard time at the family residence, Revs. A. L. Rogers and A.B. Johnson officiating and interment made in Milford Center cemetery.
