MALLORY FORMER RESIDENT OF ALLEN TOWNSHIP—WAS A VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR After an illness extending over a long period of time Mellville R. Mallory, a veteran of the Civil war, passed peacefully away, March 14th at the home of his half-sisters, Mrs. Addie Downs and Mrs. Saidee Bidwell, 344 North Maple street. Deceased had been an invalid for four years and had been a great sufferer from arteriosclerosis and Bright’s disease. Mr. Mallory’s age was 62 years, 2 months and 28 days. He was a son of Aeriel and Charlotte Draper Mallory, deceased, former residents of Allen township, where the son resided until he came to Marysville with Mrs. Downs and Mrs. Bidwell four years ago. Two other half-sisters are living, Mrs. William Imus and Miss Lucy Johnson, of Los Angeles, Cal. Deceased was a member of the 174th Regiment, O. V. I., and served in the Civil war under the late Captain W. H. Robb. He was never married. Funeral service was held at the home of his sisters Thursday afternoon, at 2:30, Rev. Vernon Emery, officiating. The interment was at Oakdale.
