Newspaper clipping from gr. grandmother
   Mrs. Melinda McCloud for many years a resident of Union township, died Friday
night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.H. Elliott near Chuckery. She had been
ailing for some time with what was believed to be cancer of the bowels, and an
operation was recently performed at one of the hospitals in Columbus, but it did
not help her.
   Mrs. McCloud was in her 72d year, which would have been completed July 12th.
She was the widow of James McCloud, a well known resident of Union county for
many years. Three children survive them, as follows: Mrs.Elliott, Mrs. Fletcher
Morse, of Garnet, Kansas, and Jerry JcCloud who resides on the old Powers farm
west of Marysville. Mrs. McCloud was a cousin of Mrs. J.J. Morelock of this
city. Funeral services were held at two o'clock, suntime, on Monday.
