Marysville Tribune Feb. 05, 1873 at Marysville Library
   John McCloud, of Unionville, and father of the lady that died of small pox at
his house last week, died of the same disease on Friday morning last. He was
buried on the afternoon of the same day, his son and another man performing the
burial. This fearful disease brings but few mourners to the burial of its
victims. The friendly hand that would perform its kind offices on all ordinary
occasions, cannot come in contact with this most loathsome of all diseases
without incurring sad consequences. This scourge is highly contagious, and it is
feared that it has not yet run it's course in the above neighborhood.
