Death was the result of age and its infirmities. She had been in failing health for the past two years, but was bedfast only three weeks prior to her death. Deceased was born March 9, 1817 at Lynchburg, Virginia. Her maiden name was Susan Fields, and she was united in marriage to Charles Patterson, whose death occurred many years ago. Mrs. Patterson came with her husband to Columbus, form Virginia and she located in Marysville over fifty years ago. She was the mother of five children, three of whom survive: Mrs. Maria May, of Delaware; Mrs. Anna Patterson, of Cleveland, and Robert Patterson of Marysville. Two children are deceased: Elizabeth Wright and William Patterson. There are eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Funeral services in the A. M. E. church Monday morning at ten o’clock conducted by Rev. J. D. Adkins, and interment in Oakdale.
