Rev. J. F. Forsythe the pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery at Ostrander. Mr. Piersol’s death was very sudden. He was seated in a chair, reading, when his wife noticed that something was the matter. She hastened to his side and found that he was breathing his last. Medical aid was summoned but to no avail. Deceased was about 72 years of age and was born and spent his entire life in the vicinity where he died. He was prominently connected with public affairs in his township. Surviving are his wife, whose maiden name was Robinson, and the following children: Wesley and Turney Piersol, of Allegheny, Pa; Orville Piersol of Alabama; Mrs. Blanche Stoney of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Lida Smith, of Millcreek township. He also leaves four brothers, Enoch and John Piersol, of Millcreek township; Jacob Piersol of Delaware county, and Evan Piersol, of Tennessee. During a portion of the Civil War, Mr. Piersol served in the Union Army.
