Mrs. Tobey had been a sufferer from cancer of the face for years and the dreaded disease had eaten away a large portion of her face and finally extended to her stomach, causing death almost wholly by starvation. Her funeral was an unusually sad one. The ceremonies were conducted by Rev. Boardsman, and the text from which he spoke was selected by Aunt Addie herself and reads, ''the grass may withereth , the flowers fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever." The text itself beautifully illustrates the character and life of the deceased and should be a comfort to her two sons, J. K. Tobey, of York, a prominent citizen of that township and H. K. Tobey, superintendent of the insane asylum, of Toledo. She was a member of the M. K. church for over 70 years, tilling a life of sunshine and casting sunbeams alike to young and old. None can cast a stone at her life; she floated down the stream with unwavering faith in the religion of her youth. She maintained her faith in her Savior for over 70 years, while some do not hold out that many days. Her life and final triumph shakes infidelity into obscurity to any thinking person. Any one not having faith in Christianity, will, by turning to any chapter in her life, find evidence that would satisfy the most credulous,on immortality.
