PURDY’s will. The last will and testament of George W. PURDY, late of Wilshire Township, Van Wert County, Ohio, deceased, was this day produced, in open Court, by A. BREY, the executor in said will named, and John KNIFF and Conrad BALLY, the subscribing witnesses to said will. Affirmed in Court, on oath testified to the due execution of said will which testimony was reduced to writing and by them respectively subscribed and filed with said will and it appearing to the Court by said testamoney that said will was duly attested and that the said testator at the time of executing the same was of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint. It is ordered by the Court that said will and testament be recorded whereupon A. BRAYthe executor in said will. It is therfore further ordered that letter testamoney be issued to him on his giving Bond in the Sum of five thousand dollars with Robert NESBIT and Conrad BALLY as [Susiles?] according to law. The Court appoints M.T. BREWER, Martin LINTEMONT and Ames BILDIN appraisers of the personal estate of the said testator. A. McGAVERN, Probate Judge Wills I, George W. PURDY, of the county of Van Wert and State of OHIO, do make and publish this my last will will and testament. First. It is my will and desire that all my property both personal and real be sold and maid into money by my execution according to law. Item 2nd. The proceeds of my estate I give and bequeath as follows, viz, to my beloved wife Sarah Jane PURDY I give and bequeath in line of her dower one third of what remains from the proceeds of my estate after all my debts and legal charges are paid. To my Daughter Caroline BOYER I give and bequeath ten dollars, this being in [addition?] to what she has received during my lifetime. To Emoline WING I give and bequeath ten dollars and the residue of said proceeds to be equally divided between my sons Lemuel Z. PURDY and George W. PURDY and my daughters Menerva PURDY, Harriett PURDY, and Mary Elizabeth PURDY. Item 3rd. I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Sarah Jane PURDY guardian of my three minor daughters Minerva PURDAY, Henrietta PURDY and Mary Elizabeth PURDY untill they shall respectivaly of age. My said guardian is hereby informed to give my children aforsaid a common English education and to rear them in habits of industry and presented upon them as for as may be Christian faith and Cherity. Item 4th I hereby nominate and appoint Absolem BREY Executor of this my last will and testament. I do hereby revoke all previous wills by me maid. In Testamoney hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of August A.D. 1864. George W. PURDY [Seal] as his last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presence. Conrad BAKELDES, John KNIFF The State of Ohio Van Wert County SS Personally appeared in open court Conrad BALUS and John KNIFF subscribing witness to the last will and testament of George W. PURDY late of said county deceased who being duly sworn according to law depose and say that the foregoing is the last will and testament of said George W. PURDY deceased that they subscribed there names thereto as the attesting witnesses at the request of the said testator and in his presence and in the presence of each other. And that he signed the same in their presence. And acknolledge the same to be his last will and testament that said testator at the time of executing the same was of full age sound mind and memory and not under any restraint.
