A Cowardly Murder

But Quite in the Fashion of a Mock Herioc Age

A team belonging to Robert Mangler, a livery stable keeper at Monticello,
Ohio came into the stable yard late Tuesday night with the body of a girl,
named Annie Frisch, sitting in the vehicle stone dead. There was a bullet
wound in the right temple and another in the left arm. Later in the evening
the dead body of her lover, Arthur Speyd, who was known to have gone
driving with her, was found on the roadside. Speyd had killed the girl &
commited suicide, probably as the result of a lover's quarrel. Speyd was
twenty-two and the girl nineteen years of age.
