Mr. G. was known only as an honest, temperate, and good citizen. He was a Christian of the Dunkard type and esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral took place last Sabbath and internment in the Baptist Cemetery. 7 May 1886 Daniel Gipe, an old and respected citizen of this county, died at his home, five miles south-west of Van Wert , Friday, April 30th. The deceased had been a resident of this county nearly a quarter of a century, and was highly spoken of by all who knew him. He was a member of the Dunkard Church, the funeral being conducted by a minister of that denomination. A large concourse of citizens followed the remains to the Baptist cemetery in Harrison twp. 14 May 1886 Allow me to correct a mistake made last week. Mr. Daniel Gipe, deceased, was 80 yrs. old instead of 65. Additional Comments: Daniel's death is registered as April 30, 1886.
