Van Wert Times Bulletin, Dec. 15, 1959
A.F. Gipe, 83, of 1017 Allingham St., died at 6:10 pm Friday in the Colonial 
Rest Home at Rockford. He had been in ill health for about 8 yrs.	The 
deceased was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Gipe and he was born Oct. 20, 1876, in 
Harrison Twp. He was a lifetime resident of the Van Wert area and was a 
retired DWG employee.
Surviving are 3 sons, Foy Gipe of S. Walnut St., Fred Gipe of Cable St. and 
Harvey Gipe of Allingham St., 6 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Book of Pleasant Twp., 
Mrs. Ilo Hines of Ridge Twp., Mrs. Florence Schwinnen of E. Sycamore St., Mrs. 
Dollie Klinger of Allingham St., Mrs. Myrtle Davis of Allingham St., and Betty 
Gipe of Allingham St., 37 Grandchilldren, 22 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-
great-grandchildren.
Rites will be at 2 pm Monday in the United Brethren in Christ Church, where he 
attended. The Rev. Frank Mathna will officiate and burial will be in the Ridge 
Cem., the Alspach Funeral Home in charge.Friends may call at the residence at 
1017 Allingham St. after 5 pm today until noon Monday, then at church.
