Van Wert Times Bulletin, 1993
Ilo I. Hines, 83, of Van Wert, died at 8:50 am Friday in Vancrest Nursing 
Home, following a brief illness. She was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Middlebury, OH, 
the daughter of Alluiva F. and Amanda Ella (Shook) Gipe. On Oct. 25, 1927, in 
Newport, KY, she married Virgil L. Hines who died April
6, 1962.
Survivors included three daughters, two sons, a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Davis fo 
Van Wert, 16 Grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
by two daughters, four brothers, six sisters, four grandchildren, and a great-
grandchild.
Mrs. Hines was a former domestic house cleaner, attended First United Brethren 
in Christ Church and was a member of Rainbow Club, Van Wert. Funeral services 
will be held at 2 pm Mon. in Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home with the Rev. John 
Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Calling 
hours are 2-5 and 7-9 pm Sunday at the Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are 
to the family.
