Death was due to the flu. Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon at the Elgin M.E. Church, in charge was Rev. G.A. Edmonds, and internment ws made in the Tomlinson Cemetery. Mr. Swygart ws born near Decatur, in Adams Co. IN, April 17, 1882 and at the time of his death was aged 37 years, 10 months, and 25 days. Until he was 17 yrs. of age, he spent the greater part of his life near the place of his birth. Since that time he has lived near Elgin. The deceased was a member of the Elgin M.E. Church and was a devout Christian. May 27, 1903 he was united in marriage to Osie Myrtle Hughes, and to this union four children were born, Emery, age 15, Edwin, age 10, Edith, age 8, and Sarah, age 6. He leaves to mourn, besides the wife and children, a father and mother, two brothers, five sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.
