Van Wert Times Bulletin, 29 Dec. 1989
Frances L. Swygart, 81, of 516 S. Shannon St., died at 11pm Thursday, in 
Vancrest Nursing Home.
She was born on Sept. 10, 1908, in Spencervill, a daughter of Charles William 
and Della (Bowers) Crider.  On April 24, 1929, she married Emery G.Swygart and 
he died on Oct. 1, 1979.
Suvivors include a son, and two daughters, three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Edna) 
Craft of Ft. McCoy, FL., Mrs. Edward (Cleo) Haneke of Sidney, and Mrs. Carl 
(Mary) Spicer of Lima, 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 13 great-
grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother Bill
Mrs. Swygart was head cook for Van Wert Co. Hospital, for ten years.  She was 
a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia and was the recipient 
of the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award by Governor Celeste.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday in the W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral 
Home in Mendon, with the Rev. Scott Myers to officiate.  Burial will be at 
Tomlinson Cemetery, Rockford
Calling hours are from 4-9pm Saturday, in the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses Association, or 
Van Wert Youth for Christ.
