The Vinton Record. April 04, 1867 April 4, 1867
Marion Jackson, confined in our county jail, and awaiting sentence for horse
stealing, made his escape on Sabbath evening last, by slipping out while the deputy
Sheriff was engaged in locking up the cells for the night. He was re-captured on
Monday evening by Sheriff Shockey, in Vinton Tp., brought back, and was yesterday
sentenced by his Honor Judge Plyley, to five year imprisonment in the Ohio
Penitentiary.
