She was the daughter of William and Clara (Arbaugh) Bacus, Harshman. She was born in in Vinton County on Sept. 26, 1920. Her husband Sidney Kapple preceded her in death. Sidney and Madeline were the owners of the Diamond Market for 38 years. Their speciality was home grown vegetables which they also sold in Columbus. Mrs. Kapple graduated from Union Furnace High School. (Logan/Hocking School Dist) She also attended the Fairview Methodist Church in Rockbridge, Ohio. Madeline is survived by a son Ronald Kapple, daughter Ruth Ann Spartar, 1 granddaughter and grandson.Also surviving are 2 of her brothers Daryl and Francis Bacus. She was preceded in death by her husband and by her 3 sisters, Bonnie Bryson, Linda Vickroy and Rita Faye Bacus; her 3 brothers, John William Bacus, Clarence D. Bacus and Robert Bacus; and a son-in-law, Carl A. Spatar. There were no calling hours and burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
