Vinton County Ohio Newspaper Democrat Enquirer October 4, 1894
Jonathon Brine was born in McArthur, November 30, 1893, died on September
29, 1894, aged 50 years, 9 months and 29 days. His first marriage was to
Mary D. Haynes, March 3, 1868 to whom was born one child- now Mrs Hattie
Dowd of McArthur. His Second Marriage was to Margaret J. Salts, October 15,
1876 who still survives. There are three children by this marriage;
Stephen, John Garfield and Nancy E. Brine.

The deceased was the son of Rev. Jonathon Brine an old citizen of McArthur
and for many years the Recorder of the County. 
The deceased was a faithful member of the I.O.O. F. Lodge and also of the K
of P Lodge of McArthur, both of which joined in the burial rites from the
Christian church, in McArthur, last Monday. Funeral sermon was by Rev Roush
of Nelsonville.
