Died--Of Consumption, in Richland tp., Vinton county, Ohio, August 10th, 1850, Mrs. Nancy Henderson, wife of Robert Henderson, in the 28th year of her age. When about twenty years old, she "chose that good part," and joined the Presbyterian Church, and lived and died a worthy and consistent member of the same. Some eighteen months ago, she left her friends and home in Morgan County, and with her husband settled in the place above named. A few weeks before her death the writer was sent for to visit her. That visit he will never forget. Two weeks before her death, at the request of herself and friends, I preached in the room "where the sufferer lay on her bed of pain," with her eyes turned towards that land where they are never sick, with an expression which seemed to say--"When shall I reach that happy place." She then told me that she was at peace with God and man, and felt a peace of soul that the world could not give. On the 11th, (Sabbath,) I preached her funeral to a large and weeping congregation, after which we laid her in the "narrow house."--And, although her husband and friends are called to mourn, they mourn not as those who have no hope; for -- Her sun did set as sets the morning star, Which goes not down behind the darken'd west-- Nor hides obscure, amidst the tempest of the skies; But melts away, into the light of Heaven.
