He was the fifth child and last survivor of seven children, Jane, Jacob M., Louisa Anne, Mary E., Lorena Ingabee and John R. Wells having preceeded him in death. On April 17, 1881, he was united in marriage to Mary V. Smith, abd to this union was born two children, Lois Leota, and Lydia Monima. His wife Mary preceeded him in death on April 27, 1885, also preceeded in death by daughter Lois Leota. On March 28, 1886 he was united in marriage to, Sylvira Jane Adkins, to which union was born three children, John E., Mamie, and Constantine B. Wells. He departed this life near Vales Mills, in Vinton County, November 22, 1931, at the age of, 81 years, 5 months and 4 days. He spent the greater part of his life in the community in which he died. He was never united with any religious faith; but deeming practice of more value than profession, he inculated into his life those principles of truth, honesty and industry, which so characterized the Master of men. He leaves to mourn his departure, Four children, Lydia M. Chalfan, of Nelsonville; Mamie Bolen of Albany; John E. and Constantine B. Wells; both of Radcliff; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. His wife, Sylvira Jane preceeded him in death on, January, 25, 1927. He will be much missed in the community in which he lived. Additional Comments: Both He and his second wife, Sylvira J. were interred in Mace Cemetery in Vinton Township, near Radcliff. The death and burial places of first wife Mary V., abd daughter, Lois Leota are unknown at this time.
