Arnold, 79, 777 Eastern av., Chillicothe, died 8:25 p.m. Sunday at his home after an extended illness. Born August 16, 1899, in New Holland, he was the son of Milton and Martha Jane Arnold. Mr. Arnold was retired from the U.S. Shoe Corporation. He was married March 30, 1917, to Mabel Hicks, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Imogene) Davis, Chillicothe; two sons, Vernon E. and Alvin L. Arnold, both of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Arnold, Leesburg Rt. 2. A grandson, four sisters and five brothers preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Rev. Dormal West officiating and burial in New Holland Cemetery. She was a 1933 graduate of Leesburg High School and, in 1940, married John E. McCall, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Morris, Orange, Cal.; a son, Bruce, of Denver; a sister, Emily Fulkerson, Albuquerque, N. M., and a brother, Maurice Rowe, Greenfield Rt. 3.
