From there he removed to Townsend, Sandusky Co., in 1821, to the farm which he owned and on which he resided when he died, having lived on the same farm sixty years, excepting about eighteen months that he resided in Clyde. He was a man of great firmness and decision of character, honest and conscientious. He had been a member of the Church for forty four years and was a faithful and useful member of the United Brethren Church at the time of his death; and we realize the fact that the Church has lost a faithful member, and the community a good citizen. Mr. Frees was married in 1836 and was a father of thirteen children, eleven of whom grew to manhood and womanhood; and his wife and eight children survive him. He died May 3d, 1881, aged 75 years, 8 months and 16 days. May the dear bereaved family realize the sustaining grace of God in this their affliction.
