All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jennifer Neff ffen@zoominternet.net August 17, 2004, 4:42 pm Mahoning Dispatch 06 Dec 1918 Mrs. Elizabeth Sanzenbacher, wife of John Sanzenbacher, died last Friday afternoon at the family home on Lisbon Street. Her maiden name was Sanzenbacher and (she) was born Jan. 18, 1836, consequently was in the 83rd years of her age. She was married three times and wed Mr. Sanzenbacher nearly 14 years ago, coming to Canfield from Pittsburgh, which had long been her home. She was a member of the local Presbyterian Church. Funeral services held from the family residence Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W.P. Hollister, were largely attended. Monday morning the remains were taken to Pittsburgh for burial. Additional Comments: Six years after the death (1898) of his first wife, Sarah Oswald Sanzenbacher, John Sanzenbacher, at the age of 77, married Sarah Sanzenbacher Huen Morrow, who was 68 and twice widowed. (Her new name became Elizabeth “Sarah” Sanzenbacher Sanzenbacher.) Her first husband, John Huen died in 1891 when she was 55 and they had lived in the Pittsburgh area. She then married Wilson Morrow who died in 1899. She is buried in Pittsburgh with her first husband and John is buried in Canfield with his first wife, Sarah. Following is a “Mahoning Dispatch” article naming her Sarah. >From Mahoning Dispatch 09 Dec1904 John Sanzenbacher, one of our oldest and best known citizens, and Mrs. Sarah Morrow of Pittsburgh were united in marriage at Jamestown, N.Y. (Chatauqua County) on Tuesday (06 Dec 1904). Mr. Sanzenbacher returned home Wednesday evening and his bride will come here within a short time. This “Mahoning Dispatch” article naming her Sarah, and her obituary and will which name her Elizabeth cause confusion. Both of John’s wives were called Sarah which causes even further confusion.
