Ohio Bertha Lambour, nee Tubbs, daughter of late William and Christiana Tubbs, nee Clantz and wife of Victor Lambour, at Camp Ohio, passed out of this life on Janulary 11, 1943 at two o'clock a.m. suddenly and unexpectedly. Born February 14, 1884, she died at the age of 58 years, 10 months 25 days. In her youth she was baptized by the Diciples church in the City of Toledo. After coming to Camp Creek, she put her membership into the Salt Creek Christian Conference Church of Christ, and was of help until that branch in the conference disbanded. She was united in marriage to Victor Lambour at Toledo, Ohio December 1902, who was then a widower with five children, to which she bestowed as much love and motherly care as those born of the marriage by her afterwards a son; Eugene and a daughter, Goldie McCann, nee Lambour. Brother Sherman Swogger, of Duke a fellow minister to Victor Lambour in the same conference, officiated at the services, and she was laid to rest in the Harmon Christian Church Cemetery Surviving to mourn their loss are her husband; Goldie McCann, nee Lambour; Eugene Lambour; five stepchildren; 3 grand chidlren and five step grandchildren; one sister, Mary Mathews of Detroit, Mich; one brother Frank Tubbs of Toledo, Ohio The son , Eugene, is now serving our country at the Aftrican front, causing her the same worry, as all good mothers, but always said, it has to be done , as we cannot let those Brutalitarians dominate the world. So we say " AuRevoir" but not goodbye. *************************8 Following is a long poem or verse . Additional Comments: In the obit it refers to Eugene being at war. He served with General Patton in Tunesia. While there both of his parents died. He came home wounded having to learn to walk again and was given a Purple Heart. Dalton, who was born in Kentucky on May 7, 1864 and departed this life November 14, 1933 being 69 years 6 months and 7 days of age at the time of his passing. He was the son of James and Barbara dalton whom have preceded him to the Great Beyond. He came to life, having born educated in the schools of Adams County, after which he entered the "teaching " profession for several years. He leaves to mourn his demise the following children: Anna B. Whitley and Sylvia Hill of Otway, Ohio; Barbara E. Cook of Springfield Ohio; Henry Clay Dalton of Wisconsin; Walter S. and Charles W. of Urbana, Ohio; James H. and Frank M. of Otway, Ohio. He also leaves 25 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Polly M. Spires of Peebles, Ohio and Ella M. Adkins of Otway, Ohio; one brother Ulysses G. Dalton of Wisconsin, His comanion departed this life February 12, 1918. She together with one daughter, Carrie M. Gordley, one son, William A. Dalton, two sisters Nola F. Waters and Larua B. Brumfield and two brothers John H. and James L. Dalton are awaiting his coming to that "Celestial" City. He was sticken with paralysis some two years ago and since that time he has bore his suffering and misfortune with patience and fortitude. Tender care and attention were given by his children and his sister and brother-in -law with whom he resided for the last six months. Everything available was done with the hope that he would be restored to former health but it wan not in accord with God's wil as he said " Come unto me all ye that are weak and heavy laden and I will give you rest." Brother Dalton united with the Wamsley M.E. Church 42 years ago and we believe that he has been a consistent member of the church, a loving father, a faithful brother and a sincere friend, whos vacancy will be hard to supply in the home, in the church and in the community in which he lived. He was a benefactor to humanity, a lover of children and the children were kindly attracted to him. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die" amd we truly believe his influence wil live in the hearts of his children and his friends and that it will inspire them to a greater endeavor in helpin humanity and serving our creator. We trust that his life will be a sweet benediction to all and that his Christian virtues wil be emulated in the lives of the youth of our community. The familiar words of the Apostle Paul can be applied in his earthly career. " I know whom I have believes and am persuaged that he is able to keep that which I have commited unto Him against that day." God gave him the welcome approbation, " Well done, thou good an faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things. I shall make thee ruler over many things". Additional Comments: William Henry Dalton was the father of Charles Wesley Dalton whom lived many years in St. Paris or Millerstown, Ohio. William is buried in Adams co.
