William Francis "Bill" Mongold, 80, of Wilmington, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. He was born April 14, 1923 in Ross County, the son of the late Roy D. Mongold and E. Faye Current Mongold. His wife, Wanda Hilterbran Mongold, preceded him in death. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at the Reynolds- Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington. Burial will be in the Harmon Cemetery in Scioto County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clinton County, 61 E. Main St., Wilmington, Ohio 45177. The deceased was a young man highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves sisters, brothers and many friends to mourn his death. He was buried at Glandorf last Saturday. Additional Comments: Lawrence was the son of James and Catherine (Cavanaugh) Welch and brother of John, Bryan, Margaret (Welch) Fischer, Mary (Welch) Burkhart Ball, and Michael Welch. Grandson of Bryan and Mary Cavanaugh (Kavanaugh). Nephew of Richard and Julia (Cavanaugh) Caton and Patrick and Mary (Cavanaugh) Noon of Putnam County. His sister Margaret was married to Joe Fischer of Sunman, Indiana; Mary to Joseph Burkhart and Henry Ball (possibly of Defiance County, Ohio.)
