Deceased was aged about thirty-five years, and a husband survives her, with three children – two boys, seven and nine years respectively, and a little daughter aged only about three months – the last child being itself seriously ill. Deceased was a daughter of the late John Grosshans, and married James Green, who is a potter working at Goodaire, about twelve years since. The funeral takes place tomorrow at 1 o’clock from the house. Burial at Riverview. Mrs. Trotter has been in poor health for some time, but did not complain of feeling any worse yesterday. Last evening, after eating a hearty supper, she started to walk across the room, and suddenly swooned, falling to the floor. She was placed in bed, and expired in less than half an hour, at 8 o’clock. Death is supposed to have resulted from heart disease. Deceased was one of the best known residents of Calcutta. Her husband, Alex. Trotter, is still living, and is proprietor of a store there. She was aged sixty-seven years, and the mother of six children, all of whom are now grown, and raised in the vicinity. The funeral will occur tomorrow at 1 o’clock. The services will be held in Clarkson church; interment in Clarkson cemetery. He was aged eighty-two and a half years, and a widower, leaving no children. Mr. Steele has spent all his days in this part of the county. For years he was associated with Sanford C. Hill, of this city, who is still remembered by numbers of the older residents. Mr. Steele was considered the finest astronomer and mathematician in this portion of the State. Although by nature something of a recluse, he was known throughout the county for his wonderful faculties in those directions. He possessed one of the finest telescopes in this part of the State. He was moderately well to do, inheriting some land from his father. It will be remembered that the early part of this summer, when Mr. Steele was in his eighty-third year, he was attacked by burglars in his own house and successfully resisted them and drove them off – shooting at one of the depredators with a shotgun. Vincent, of Fifth street, succumbed to typhoid fever at 4 :25 Thursday afternoon after an illness of five weeks. The young man was very popular and widely known and the news of his death will be received with deep regret. About four weeks ago he was removed from his father’s home to the residence of Mrs. Flora Vincent, Third street. He began to sink Wednesday, and on Thursday he was in a dying condition. The end came peacefully. The remains were taken away on the midnight train to Howell, Michigan, where the grandparents of the deceased reside. John Saint and Dr. Vincent accompanied the remains. Smith, of Smiths Ferry, died at 11:30 Thursday evening after a brief illness from pneumonia. Mrs. Smith was born and reared near Smiths Ferry and was well known. She was over 50 years old and was a member of the Presbyterian church. She took to her bed last Saturday. These children survive her: Mrs. Etta West, of Allegheny; Misses Susie and Myrtle, Pittsburgh; Will, near Pittsburgh; and Bertie, Ethel, Charles, Roy and Earl, of Smiths Ferry. Charles and Roy are employed at the French China Co.’s Plant, East Liverpool. John Rayl, of Wellsville, is a brother of the deceased. Several sisters are left. The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon; interment at Georgetown.
