Mr. Doles who had lived in Ray and was the father of Clifford Doles of Chillicothe, died Friday at Athens. He was born in Vinton County on Oct. 31, 1885, the son of Thomas and Nancy Lytle Doles. His wife, Eva, predeceased him. Surviving in addition to the son, are nine grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. The Rev. James Collins will officiate at the services, with burial to follow in the Doles Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wrightsel Funeral Home in McArthur. Nolan-Frederick nolanfamilyhistory@yahoo.com May 13, 2004, 6:25 pm Akron Beacon Journal Jan. 28, 1952 Frank Nolan, A Policeman 23 Years, Dies Policeman Frank J. Nolan, 55, of 56 N. Highland av., a member of the Akron Police Department 23 years, died today in City Hospital after a long illness. Nolan and his wife, Anne, a native of Ireland, went to Ireland last Summer on an extended visit. He had not been in good health at the time of the trip, and had not been well much of the time since his return. He suffered from a heart ailment. Recently he returned to work, but a week ago he became seriously ill and was hospitalized. Born in Galion, O. Nolan lived in Kent and Cuyahoga Falls before coming to Akron in 1913. NOLAN FIRST worked on traffic and later was a motorcycle officer. He had been on various beats and cruiser assignments. For more than five years he had been jailer. He was a member of the Moose Club and St. Vincent Church and was a Fourth- Degree member of Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife Nolan leaves fours sons, Gaylord, and Akron policeman, Walter, an Akron fireman, Frank Jr. of Stow and Willis of Akron, and a daughter Mrs. Charles Hughes of Cuyahoga Falls.
