His wife, Wanda Hilterbran Mongold, preceded him in death. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at the Reynolds- Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington. RODGERS, 79, of Jeffersonville, will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville. She died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Sellersburg Health and Rehab. She was a native of Bethlehem, and a retired production employee at Pillsbury. Survivors include cousins, PAM BALLARD and ANITA COUCH, both of Charlestown, and MARY MONROE STOUT, Huber Heights, Ohio. WILLIAM HESTER Greenfield, Ohio - Services for WILLIAM (ED) HESTER, 69, of 2042 Cliff Run Road, Bainbridge, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Murray Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Beckwith officiating. Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Bainbridge American Legion Post. Mr. Hester died at 3 p.m. Friday near his residence when a tree fell on him while cutting trees in a nearby woods. He was born May 3, 1915, in Ross County to DAVID and STELLA MILLER HESTER. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Seabees, member of the Bainbridge American Legion Post 13, Bainbridge Masonic Lodge, and the Greenfield Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his wife, JULIA, whom he married March 18, 1939; a son, CHARLES W. HESTER, of Bainbridge; three daughters, Mrs. CHRYTAL A. OSBORNE, of Newark, Mrs. BECKY BROWN, of Washington C.H., and Miss KATHY JO HESTER, of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. ALMA HESTER, of Greenfield; one brother, PAUL HESTER, of Granville; a sister, Mrs. VIRGINIA RIGGIN, of Columbus; and a nephew, LEROY HESTER, of Houston, Tex. Fourth St., Greenfield, died at 8 p.m. Monday in Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill five months. Mrs. Duff was born in Ross County Feb. 28, 1893, to HENRY and MINNIE BARLEON DHUME. She was a retired employee of the Greenfield Area Medical Center, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Women's Association of the church, the Mutual Improvement Club and the Sarosis Club of Greenfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, VERNON DUFF, Oct. 21, 1952, one son and two brothers. Surviving are three sons, MAYNARD and ELWOOD DUFF, both of Hillsboro, and THOMAS DUFF, East Greenwich, R. 1; four grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Murray Funeral Home, Greenfield, with the Rev. John Robison officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery. Additional Comments: Two of the grandparents of Mrs. Ruth Duff, the parents of her mother Minnie Barleon Dhume, were George and Mary Barleon, who lived on what is now called Wisecup Hill, in Buckskin Township of Ross County, Ohio.
