His lifeless body was found sometime later, and it was not at first apparent what had caused his death. Coroner McCULLOUGH was summoned, and investigation disclosed that the bolt had entered the top of the head and passed down through the body. Death was undoubtedly instantaneous. Mr. DYE was aged about 37. He leaves a wife, whose maiden name was Lena MUSSER, also three children. He was a son of the late Andrew DYE and brother of Harry DYE, employed at the Ellis Clothing store, in this city. Deceased was a fine young man, industrious and exemplary in conduct, of whom we once heard a lady remark that she considered him "the best boy in Meigs county." JERRY GOTSCHALL Eliza Ann, daughter of Elza and Mary TURNER, was born near Harrisonville, Sept. 26, 1859 and died at Mt. Carmel Hospital, Columbus, Jan. 12, 1913, age 53 years 3 months and 17 days. She was married to Wesley MUSSER June 7, 1880, who died February 14, 1886. One daughter of this marriage, Mrs. Lena DYE, of Harrisonville, survives. She was married the second time to Jerry GOTSCHALL October 18, 1889. To the new home she brought her little daughter and took into her heart and hands the task of helping to rear the two little daughters of her new husband. In the years that followed there were added of her own, four children -- set of twins (Hudson and Judson) dying in infancy. One married son, Glenn, and a daughter Olevia, aged sixteen, both living at home, are the children of the later marriage. The stepdaughters are Mrs. Kate RICKEY of Albany and Mrs. Bessie MUSSER of Harrisonville, Besides the husband are left an aged father, one sister, Mrs. Lettie BLASER of Wyandott Co., Ohio and two brothers, John TURNER of Oklahoma and Robert TURNER of Harrisonville. She was converted when quite young and joined the M.E. Church of which she was a member -- until 1891 when her membership was transferred to the Presbyterian Church of Harrisonville. The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, Jan 15, 1913, at the Harrisonville Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. I.L. DUGAN of Middleport. GOTSCHALL, daughter of Abraham and Catherine GOTSCHALL was born Dec. 15, 1848, In Harrison County, O., died Oct., 26, 1912, aged 63 years, 10 months and 10 days. She was married Jan. 6, 1870 to Wm. J. CHASE. To this union were born six children, five sons viz. Jerry C. of Dayton, O., Millard A. of Carpenter, O., William E., who died June 10th, 1902, Howard W., of Dyesville, Ohio and Athey of Hebron, Ohio. and one daughter, Mrs. Earl CHASE of Pomeroy. She was united with the Presbyterian church at Harrisonville, December, 1886. Weighed down with the cares of her family, her church opportunities were slight, but her home life was a beautiful example of the christian wife and mother, her entire mind being occupied by the thought of the comfort and happiness of her family and friends. In June of this year the family were greatly shocked to learn that Mrs. CHASE was suffering from cancer. She was immediately taken to Columbus for treatment, where she remained some six weeks, during which time she always displayed the same cheerful disposition which surrounded her in her home like. After being brought home she seemed to improve but again the dreaded disease manifested itself and after some weeks of patient suffering she was relieved of her earthly troubles. During her illness she expressed herself to members of her family as being ready for the future and wanted to meet them all in heaven. She is survived by a husband, one brother, Jerry GOTSCHALL, of Harrisonville, and four sisters, Mrs. Owen G. NORTON of Garland, Wyo., Mrs. John STILES, Harrisonville, Mrs. Charles WINN, Rutland and Mrs. Earnest WARNER, Harrisonville, besides fourteen grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted at the house of Col. E. P. BROOKS. Interment in the Wells cemetery at Downington. Newspaper-January 1912 Elias Story One of Bedford Township's Most Substantial and Respected Citizens Dead In the death of Elias Story Bedford township loses one of its most substantial and respected citizens. Years ago he spend several years in the then wilds of what is now the state of Montana and brought back with him a competence to which he has added by industry and careful management. He was married three times. His first wife being Catherine Beaty, who died many years ago. To this union was born one son Elias, Jr. who died while on a trip to Honolulu for his health and after amassing a considerable fortune. Mr. Story's second wife was Lucy Carper. She died some years ago leaving two daughters, Desty, now Mrs. R. F. Perry, of Flora, Ohio and Nora, now Mrs. A. C. Roecher of Bozeman, MT. Several years ago he married a Mrs. Blackwood, who survives him. Mr. Story had passed the 77th milestone of life. He has not been in robust health for some years but had not ceased his active habits of life and was stricken down while out about his daily duties by dread paralysis. His funeral took place Tuesday at Burlingham, conducted by Elder M. A. Harvey and his mortal remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place. J. Rice, of Lincoln street was called from earth Fri. morning at her home on Lincoln street without a moment's warning. She had arisen as usual and prepared the breakfast meal and was seated at the table, when her husband noticed a peculiar expression pass over her face. A moment later she fell over dead. Dr. Hanlin was called and pronounced it apoplexy. The deceased was in the sixties and was the wife of G. J. Rice, better known as Jacob Rice, old residents of Middleport and known by everybody. Besides her aged husband, Mrs. Rice leaves one son, who is married and lives away from here. Her maiden name was Addie McKaskey. Additional Comments: Abbie was born April 16, 1837 in Pennsylvania and died in Middleport January 28, 1910. She was the daughter of William McCaskey of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Klein of Pennsylvannia. Buried in Middleport Hill, Middleport, Meigs Co., Ohio. Source Death Certificate. Newspaper, Sept. 15, 1910 Mrs. Byron Story died at her home at Burlingham Tuesday of last week aged 72 years, 9 months and 11 days. She had not been in the best of health for some time past but it was not thought that her condition was at all serious. Mrs. Story's maiden name was Conant and she was married to Byron Story August 15, 1860, and on the 15th of last month they celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. To Mr. and Mrs. Story were born eight children, six of whom survive. They are: W. D. and C. E. Story, Park City, Montana, W. C. Story, Burlingham, Hannah Campbell, wife of E. G. Campbell, Syracuse, Myrtle Williams, wife of C. E. Williams, Burlingham and Alma Henderson, wife of G. T. Henderson, Hemlock Grove, One brother, C. P. Conant and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Ewing, also survive. Mrs. Story was one of Bedford township's most highly respected citizens and her unexpected death has caused genuine sorrow wherever she was known. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock conducted by Elder M. A. Harvey, burial following in the Burlingham Cemetery. Additional Comments: Betsy was born Nov 25, 1837 in Ohio and died in Bedford Twp. Meigs Co., Ohio. She was the daughter of William Conant of Connecticut and Charlotte Van Pelt of Ohio, wife of Byron Story and buried in Burlingham Cem. Bedford Twp., Meigs Co., Ohio.
