Ingraham died at his residence on west Main street, after a several months tedious illness. Dr. Ingraham was born in Harrison couty, Va., on November 9, 1821, and came to this State and began the study of medicine with Dr. Carpenter of Athens in 1840. He afterward located in Plainfield this county, and had been in continuous practice until the time of his last illness. In 1847 he was married to Sarah Elizabeth Guthrie, a highly esteemed lady, of Logan, Ohio. For many days it was known to those about him that the end was near, and his children, were hastily summoned to his bedside, and all were present when the vital spark was extinguished. His three sons--Charles M., ex-city recorder; R.J., a young attorney, and E. Floyd, all of Kansas City, Mo., together with his daughters, Mrs. H.L. Mann, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Joseph W. Marsh, of Pittsburgh, Pa; Mrs. G.J. Clarke of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Alex. Renfrew, of Canal Lewisville, were all gathered at the last sad scene. The funeral services were conducted by Revs. Jno. I. Wilson and W.E. Hunt at the family residence on Wednesday afternoon, and the interment took place in Oak Ridge Cemetery, It can be said of Dr. Ingraham that the extensive and continued practice of his profession won for him the distinction of being one of the most successful practitioners in this part of the state, especially in surgery. submitted by: Bobbie Keist McClenny bobbie661@comcast.net File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/coshocton/obits/ingraham704ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ohfiles/ File size: 2.2 Kb ______________________________ ------------------------------ X-Message: #2 Date: 8 Aug 2005 18:16:10 -0000 From: Archives To: OH-BMD-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <20050808181610.3729.qmail@mail.best1-host.com> Subject: Oh-Greene Co. Kyle, a highly esteemed lady, who for some months past has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Geo. F. Robinson, died on Saturday afternoon about 1 o'clock. The deceased was a daughter of Isaac and Mary mooney and was born at Mill Grove, O., March 15, 1821. She was united in marriage to the late Dr. Jos. A. Kyle on Dec. 11, 1838, the ceremony taking place in Jefferson county, Ind. To them were given ten children, four of whom are still living, namely, Mary, wife of Geo. F. Robinson, of Xenia; Joanna, wife of David C. Kyle, of Washington, Iowa; Joseph Kyle, of Ozark, Mo., and William Kyle, or Elgin, Oregon. The burial took place this afternoon. Additional Comments: Dr. Jos. A. Kyle = Dr. Joseph Addison Kyle s/o Joseph Kyle and Jane Gowdy Geo. F. Robinson = George Foglesong Robinson, author of History of Greene County, Ohio There is discrepancy regarding the birth location of Sarah. Although it is listed here as Mill Grove, O., this is in conflict with other secondary sources. More research is needed to confidently determine birth location of Sarah. Corroboration for above details from obituaries of deceased's relatives, death records, marriage records and Greene County Histories (Deeds & Robinson). April 29 1908 TITLE: "FORMER XENIA WOMAN DIES IN KANSAS" Mrs. C. E. Arbogust, of North King street, received a telegram Wednesday morning, announcing the death of her stepmother, Mrs. George F. Robinson, which occurred Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Benjamin Dobbins, of Blue Mound, Kan. Her demise followed an illness of only two or three weeks' duration. Mrs. Robinson was, until a year ago, a resident of this city; and she had many friends here who will be sorry to learn of her death. During her residence in Kansas she made her home with her two daughters, Mrs. Dobbins, formerly Miss Elizabeth Robinson, and Mrs. Work, wife of Rev. Wm. Work, of Pleasant Valley, Kan. Mrs. Work was before marriage Miss Edith Robinson. There is also one other daughter, Miss Mary, who also resides in Kansas. Beside Mrs. Arbogust, the deceased is survived by three other stepchildren, as follows: Mr. Al. Robinson, of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. R. M. Parcell, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Margaret Berrieman, of Washington, D. C. Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Dr. Joseph Kyle, who was a practising physician in Cedarville and Xenia for almost half a century. Additional Comments: I have above obituary in PDF format, if you want a copy. Obituary is for Mary (KYLE) ROBINSON. She is d/o Dr. Joseph Addison KYLE and Sarah Ann MOONEY. I suggest looking for her full obituary in a Kansas newspaper (near Blue Mound) where she reported to be at the time of death. Her husband, George F. (FOGLESONG) ROBINSON was author of History of Greene County, Ohio. The daughter mentioned as Edith Robinson, married to Rev. Wm. Work, is Sarah Edith Robinson. The full name of her husband is William Cecil Work. They are both buried in Marion Center Cemetery, Marion Center, Pennsylvania. An alternative spelling found for Dobbins is Dobbin (singular). An alternative spelling found for Parcell is Parsell. These comment details corroborated by other sources, including obituaries of relatives, death records, cemetery records, Greene County Histories. He is s/o JOSEPH KYLE and JANE GOWDY. His wife is SARAH ANN MOONEY, d/o ISAAC and MARY MOONEY. Both Dr. Kyle and his wife are buried at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio. Someone wrote a note in the Woodland Cemetery records that the Sarah buried next to him is a d/o Joseph Kyle and Jane Gowdy, but that information is not correct. The Sarah buried in that plot is his WIFE, Sarah (nee MOONEY) Kyle. "Mrs. GEORGE ROBINSON" is MARY (KYLE) ROBINSON. The George Robinson referenced is author of "History of Greene County Ohio."
