Mrs. Sarah A. Parker, mother of City Marshal Parker, died last Saturday [31 Oct 1903], aged 81 years and 10 months. She was born in Granville, Ohio, and came to California about seven years ago. Her husband died forty-eight years ago. She had been a member of the Methodist church seventy years. She left four children, Mr. Parker being the only one in California. Rev. J. J. Martin conducted the funeral services at the home of her son Sunday [1 Nov 1903] at 2:30. Additional Comments: I have evidence that this is Sarah Ann Cooper, born and raised in Licking County, daughter of Samuel C. Cooper and Caroline Thrall, and widow of Isaac Nelson Parker. Some evidence already posted at http://wc.rootsweb.com/~hendersonscholes. See other death notice for conflicting information about exact day of death.
