His birth was not reported until July 1877, so maybe he died then....Record does not show who the informant was. Also, the record shows his mother as Mary L Lloyd, but her middle initial was "F". David's father was born between 1838-1844, unsure at this time of actual date due to variations in census records and haven't been able to locate proof of birth/death for him yet. For a number of years his health was impaired. At times he seemed better, but the ebbing of life's tide was always greater than its flow, and brought him nearer to the end. Notwithstanding he kept up and spent the last Monday of his life at his post as county commissioner at the court house in Paulding. The funeral was held, Sunday, June 16, in the M.E. Church at 2:00 p.m., the pastor, Rev. C. D. Chiles, conducting the services Interment in Maumee Cemetery. (Antwerp, Ohio) Mr. Johnson was interested in social as well as the business world. While health permitted, farming was his vocation. For a number of years he was one of the county fair board, served as trustee of his-Carryall_township and at last was serving as Paulding County Commissioner. In all of these he was highly esteemed and a useful member. The following obituary was prepared and read at the funeral services: Andy D. Johnson, son of Mr and Mrs William Johnson, was born in Milan Center Indiana, August 9, 1882. He departed this life at his home in Antwerp, O., June 14, 1935, aged 52 years, 10 months, and 5 days. His early life was spent in the community in which he was born coming to Ohio when about 16 years of age, settling on a farm in Paulding County, where he remained a citizen until about two years ago, when because of failing health he moved to Antwerp. He was united in marriage to Miss Pearl M. Sebert, July 26, 1901. To this union were born three children, one girl and two boys, Devota M., Dale S. and Kenneth. November, 1932, he was elected County Commissioner and served very acceptably up to the last. He was very much interested in public life and the welfare of all his people. He was a member of the Antwerp M.E. Church, joining under the pastorate of the Rev. Joseph Shepherd. For the past five years he has been quite poorly and a great sufferer, but has tried to keep up his work.
