THELMA VIOLET DAVIS THELMA VIOLET DAVIS, 95, of Otway, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Greenfield Area Medical Center in Greenfield. She was born April 26, 1908 in Otway, a daughter of the late ELMER PIERCE and ADELIA HOWARD PIERCE. Mrs. Davis was an LPN, with 32 years of service with the former Portsmouth General Hospital and Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was a 50 year member of the Log Cabin Grange, a member of the Berea Chapel Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and an organist and a member of the Rocky Fork Community Church. She was united in marriage to Frank C. Davis, on Dec. 17, 1925, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1994. She is survived by two sons, RONALD (MILDRED) DAVIS, KENNETH (RITA) DAVIS, both of Otway; two daughters, THELMA BROWN of Wheelersburg, MILDRED (WILLIAM) WISECUP of Greenfield; brother, VIRGIL PIERCE of Dover; sister-in- law, JOAN ROMERO of McDermott; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, RICHARD FRANKLIN DAVIS; one daughter, PAULINE DAVIS; sister, MILDRED HAMILTON; son-in-law, GARY BROWN; and a granddaughter, VICKIE SMITH.
