Deceased was a son of the late Jacob Brunstetter, who was one of the county commissioners in 1852, and was born in Austintown township Nov. 10, 1842. Here he resided nearly all his life. His wife and son preceded him to the better world. He was in the 100 day service during the civil war. He was a member of the Evangelical church of this place. Many relatives and friends deeply mourn his death. Funeral services, held Saturday from the Evangelical church, were conducted by Rev. W.H. Bucks of Cleveland, assisted by Rev. Harman of the United Evangelical church and Rev. Tovay, and were very largely attended. Interment was made in the Brunstetter cemetery. Rush, in Alva, Oklahoma, May 25. Deceased was born in Austintown Jan. 15 1824. She was married in 1851 to Jacob Brunstetter, who died in Kansas 45 years ago. She was the mother of three children, two of whom survive – Mrs. Rush of Alva and Perry C. of Nortonville, Kan. She was also the sep-mother of five children – Henry H., Sarah, Julia, Samuel and Laura, all deceased, except H.H. who resides in Alva. She was a sister of the late Daniel Craver [Graver] who formerly resided here and of the mother of W. Ohl. Besides there were seven other sisters and brothers, all of whom are deceased. In early life she became a consistent Christian, always remaining such. Brunstetter of Alva, Oklahoma, Aug. 20. The deceased was born in Austintown township March 17, 1837. He attended the district school in this place and was a student at the Mahoning Academy in Canfield. He taught school for nearly 48 years, teaching in Ohio, Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The first term was taught in 1867 and the last in Oklahoma in 1905. He kept a record of the names of all his pupils and their ages. In October, 1861, he enlisted in Co. F, 41st Ohio Infantry; was wounded in the battle of Pittsburgh Landing. April 7, 1862, was honorably discharged and later enlisted in the 12th Ohio Calvary. His wife, three sons and a daughter survive him. DeCamp died Friday morning last and her father, John Brunstetter, died from a paralytic stroke about 12 hours after the funeral. The funeral of Mrs. DeCamp was held Saturday and Mr. Brunstetter was buried Sunday. Lester Brunstetter of Port Royal, Pa, who was called here by the death of his father and sister, returned home this morning. West Austintown Mrs. John DeCamp, a long and patient sufferer with dropsy, died last week and was buried at Cornersburg on Saturday. Her age was about 51 years. Austin Bronstetter, a well known citizen and an habitual drunkard, who is to be pitied rather than censured, for the habit had become a disease which he could not govern or control. Rev. Houst of Canfield, conducted the funeral services. Friday, 17 Feb 1882 the following article appeared in the Mahoning Dispatch: Austin Bronstetter died in Austintown on Monday last [13 Feb 1882], aged about 56 years.
