Mr. Davis was born in St. Marys, W. Val, and resided in this community 16 years. He was employed by the Jones & Laughlin Steel Co. at Aliquippa for the past six years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge at Aliquippa and the C. I. O. Mr. Davis leaves his widow, Mrs. Edna Pearl Davis; five sons, Clyde R. Davis of Steubenville, Santford Davis is Smiths Ferry, and Lawrence Davis of Ft. Meade, Md., and George Davis and James Davis at home; six daughters, Mrs. Pauline Jones of Smiths Ferry, Mrs. Doris Newman of Chester, Mrs. Florence Higgins of near New Cumberland, and Mary Rose Davis, Twila Davis and Edna Davis at home; three brothers, Lawrence Davis, Valley Davis and Santford Davis of East Liverpool; three half-brothers, William Davis of East Liverpool, Emmanuel Davis of Tulsa, and William Parks of Latrobe, and 10 grandchildren. Rites will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the Martin Funeral Home by Rev. E. K. Hines of Canton. Burial will be in Longs Run Cemetery. Friends may call Friday night at the funeral home. Davis, 83, of rear 629 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, who died at 4:10 a. m. Sunday at Northern Columbiana County Community Hospital East Unit in Salem after a two-year illness. She was born Oct. 11, 1894, in St. Clair Township, a daughter of Charles and Mary Jane Gamble Wright. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple. Her husband, Mike Warren Davis, whom she married July 30, 1919, died June 15, 1950. She leaves three sons,Clyde W. Rose of Steubenville, Larry A. Davis of Lake Milton and James E. Davis of Wellsville; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Pauline) Jones at home, Mrs. William (Doris) Fraser and Mrs. Okey (Edna) Adkins, both of East Liverpool; and Mrs. James E. (Twila) Shannon of Hookstown; two brothers, Alvin Wright of Calcutta and Ernie A. Wright of Mexia, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Nicholas (Mabel) Pannulla of Alliance, Mrs. Gertrude Henderson of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Eva Mills of New Castle, Pa.; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was born March 5, 1921, in East Liverpool, a son of Mrs. Edna Wright Davis of East Liverpool and the late Michael Davis. He had resided here most of his life. Mr. Davis was a miner for the Nevada Mining Co. of Winnemucca, New., for 20 years until his retirement 10 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1941 to 1945. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, James Davis of Wellsville and Lawrence Davis of Lake Milton; a half-brother, Clyde Rose of Steubenville, and four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Jones, Mrs. Okey (Edna) Adkins and Mrs. William (Doris) Fraser, all of East Liverpool, and Mrs. James (Twyla) Shannon of Hookstown. Mr. Davis was a former employee for Republic Steel of Warren, O., and a member of Post 66, VFW, Loyal Order Moose 112 and Eagle Aeerie 457 and received the Purple Heart and the Oak Leaf Cluster during World War II. Besides his mother of East Liverpool, he leaves three brothers, Sanford of East Liverpool, James of Wellsville and Lawrence of Lake Milton; a half- brother, Clyde Rose of Steubenville; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline Jones, Mrs. Okey (Edna) Adkins and Mrs. William (Doris) Fraser, all of East Liverpool and Mrs. James (Twila) Shannon of Hookstown, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
