She was born June 1, 1916 in Ross County, the daughter of John Henry Cartwright and Olive (Beechler) Cartwright. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a private duty nurse. Dale B. Holloway Dale B. Holloway, 87, of Xenia, formerly of Springfield, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia. He was born in Ross County on July 28, 1916 to Jesse Clyde and Margaret (Morgan) Holloway. He graduated from Buckskin High School and Springfield Business College. On June 17, 1939 he married Marjorie Anderson, who died Dec. 14, 2000. They made their home in Springfield for 60 years before moving to Outlook Pointe Assisted Living Center in Xenia. He was retired from the Champion Company and was a long-standing member of the Masons, Clark Lodge No. 101 and Northminister Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and William Wright of Xenia; granddaughter, Joan and husband, Frank McLain of Galloway; grandson, Gregory Wright and wife, Martha Mai of Washington, D.C.; and great- grandchildren, Mallory and Matthew McLain of Galloway. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Bristley of Lyndon; brother-in-law, O. Eugene Storts of Dublin; brother-in-law and wife, Willard and Joann Anderson of South Salem, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. FRIDAY. Funeral services for Nathan Dawson Hoffman, 77-year-old farmer of R.F.D. 1, Greenfield, and a life-long resident of Buckskin township, Ross county, will be conducted from the Murray Co. chapel, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Franklin Norris, pastor of the United Brethren church, will officiate at the last rites and at interment in Greenlawn cemetery, Frankfort. Neighbors will serve as pallbearers. Hoffman died about noon, Wednesday, at his home in the Slate Hill community. He had been in ill health for two years. Deceased was born Aug. 24, 1861, the son of John and Margaret Freshour Hoffman. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Hile Kennedy and Miss Blanche Hoffman, both of whom lived with their father; a granddaughter, Margaret Kennedy; and one sister, a resident of Holliday's Cove, W. Va. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Ziegler; daughter, Tammara (Glen Jeffrey); son, Russell Callapp (fiancee, Linda Parker); grandchildren, Michael and Richard Bell; sisters, Mildred Glenn (Robert) of Greenfield, Ohio, and Donna Jean Dailey (James) of Chillicothe, Ohio; brother, Jerry Wisecup (Bertie) of Circleville, Ohio; a special cousin, Mary Ellen Hurless of Piketon, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Martin Luther Sever, 77, of Hillsboro, died at 11:45 a.m. Aug. 4, 2001 at home with his special companion, Mary Priest, in the loving care of his family and the Clinton County Hospice. He was born Sept. 20, 1923 at Austin, son of Charles and Nellie Sever. On Nov. 10, 1945 he married Evelyn Kinnamon. They had nine children. Evelyn preceded him in death on July 8, 1977. Surviving are four sons: Charles of Chillicothe, Lawrence (Ina), of Greenfield, Robert (Shirley), of Frankfort, Lee, of Clarksburg; two daughters, Jan (David) Garcia, of Loxahatchee, Fla., and Jean Ann (Roger) of Chillicothe; step grandchildren, Pamela (John) Mottie, of Hillsboro and Thomas (Ruth) Priest, of Highland; 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the VFW in Greenfield, Frankfort American Legion, AmVets of Hillsboro and also belonged to the Eagles Lodge in Greenfield. Mr. Sever was a professional wrestler known as 'Tiger'. He was retired and a previous worker of many trades. The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001 in the Frankfort United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Hiles and Craig Reichert officiating. burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where military rites will be accorded by the Frankfort American Legion. Friends may call at the Fisher-Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Frankfort on Tuesday, 5-9 p.m. where Eagles service will be held at 7 p.m. Austin was a small town at the intersection of State Route 138 and State Route 35 in Ross County, Ohio. State Route 35's location has now been moved to another location, and the railroad that once stopped in Austin has been shut down, so Austin is now just another ghost town, with only one or two houses left. The newspaper clipping does not have the date on it. ERNEST P. STORTS; RITES SUNDAY. Ernest P. Storts, 49, 848 Lafayette st., died at 2 p.m., Thursday, in University Hospital, Columbus, after being injured that morning in an automobile-school bus collision on Ohio Rt. 753 south of Rt. 35. Death was attributed to abdominal injuries. The accident occurred at 7:10 a.m. The Fayette county sheriff's department said Mr. Storts was southbound on his way home from work at the Armco plant, Washington C.H., when his car rammed into the bus being turned around in the highway by Maryon Yeoman, 46, Washington C.H. Rt. 4. The mishap occurred in 'heavy fog,' the sheriff reported. Yeoman had one passenger, a young girl. They were not hurt. Mr. Storts was taken to Fayette Memorial Hospital and then to the Columbus hospital. Mr. Storts was born in Ross county Jan. 1, 1917, a son of Ira and Myrtle COKONOUGHER Storts. He and Miss Mildred Taylor were married June 26, 1938. He was a member of Pisgah-Mt. Pleasant Federated church, and was a World War II Army veteran. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Clifton, and four grandchildren, of Blanchester; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Virgil Keplinger, of Greenfield, Mrs. Donald Leach, of Leesburg, Ray Storts, of Lyndon, and Ralph, of Zanesville. Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, in the Murray funeral home. Burial will be made in Gilboa cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m., Saturday.
